REMEDY OF THE DAY: KAMALA

Mallotus philippensis, red Kamala, kamala dye tree,
A tree from India, South Arabia, Tropical Austrialia
“A red inflamable powder, obtained from the trilobed
capsules of the plant” THE TAPEWORM REMEDY.
Given in doses of half to two drachms. Hanbury wrote:
“Among the Arabs of Aden is also used to remove
freckles and pustules, it is also used to treat en
eruption named WILDFIRE”(erysilepa like rash)
strophulus volaticua, in children.

We can also use the powder rubbing it in the affected part with a
moist lint, but its real valme is to use it as
an anti helmintic when tapeworms are bothering body and
has been extensively used in INDIA.
