IDOL: introducing Homeopath Idol of the week, Dr. S. Chidambaranathan, a successful and devoted Homeopath. He is a visiting honorary consultant to Jain Dispensary, a charitable Hospital, for more than 14 years. He was elected twice in succession as a first-class committee gazette member of the Tamil Nadu Homeopathy Medical Council, which is the advisory body to the government. He also served as a member of the board of examiners in the council and conducted examinations for D.H.M.S., D.Pharm and refresher courses for registered medical practitioners. Dr. Chidambaranathan also renders service to the poor as a vice-president and research medical officer of Human Care and Homeopathic Research Centre, Madurai. As a president of Similia Health Academy, he organises seminars and CME programmes. He has organised more than a 100 medical camps on Sundays in four districts in and around Madurai to create awareness and popularise Homeopathy. He is also trying to popularise the system of medicine by writing homeopathy articles in various leading English (The New Indian Express) and Tamil (Malai Murasu) newspapers.
