On why some old symptoms reappear.

Often in the course of the healing process old symptoms temporarily reappear.

Why should people have to go back through these old problems in the course of getting better?

I like to picture the healing process as going up a flight of stairs. At the top of the stairs, the energy is balanced, all the nutrients are present in their proper ratios, and the body is functioning properly. When someone’s health begins to deteriorate, he moves down the stairs, and at each step along the way he experiences a specific kind of symptom- perhaps less energy at one step, headaches a little farther down, an ulcer still farther, and so on. As the body begins to heal itself once again, the person begins to move back up the stairs and re-experiences the symptoms associated with these various levels of health. Experiencing such healing reactions can be very distressing for many people because we have been taught in our society that symptoms are somehow bad. When a person is experiencing a healing reaction, they may be worried that they may be getting worse rather that better. These symptoms occur because the body is ridding itself of substances that are making it toxic.

As these substances are ejected out of the tissues, they are dumped into the system, making the body temporarily more toxic until they can be excreted. This can be partly what produces the symptoms of a healing reaction. You’ll find generally that the more toxic a person’s condition (the more toxic his or her body is) the stronger will be the reaction. Those who have the worst symptom reactions and follow through to their successful conclusions are avoiding some of the worst diseases which would have developed had they continued their careless habits. Be happy you are having symptoms. Realize deeply that your body is becoming younger and healthier every day because you are throwing off more and more wastes which would have brought pain, disease, and much suffering.

The first laws we must learn to obey are the laws of Nature. We must learn to eat simple, pure, and natural foods, properly prepared and combined, and our bodies have the ability to cast off all the bad we have taken in during our lives. All repentance must begin here in the body- through a purer diet and natural foods. Then just have faith, sit back, and watch what happens.

Understand that these actions are constructive even though unpleasant at the moment. Don’t try to stop these actions by the use of certain drugs. These symptoms are part of the healing process; so don’t try to cure a cure. This is natures’ way of housecleaning. Be happy you are paying your bills now with the easy payment plan.
