Larry Malerba, DO, DHt has practiced classical homeopathy for 25 years.
He first encountered homeopathy in medical school where he was mentored by Kirby Hotchner, DO, professor of family medicine.
“Dr. Hotchner gave me copies of Boericke’s Materia Medica and Kent’s Repertory, and a transcript of Vithoulkas’ ‘stolen essences,’ and I was on my way. We spent many months together, treating patients with homeopathy at the University Family Practice Clinic in Des Moines, Iowa.
It was very unusual because it received my homeopathic training while attending conventional medical school.”
Dr. Malerba has a particular interest in medical philosophy. He is the author of Green Medicine: Challenging the Assumptions of Conventional Health Care and Metaphysics & Medicine: Restoring Freedom of Thought to the Art and Science of Healing.
He notes that, “both books are designed to introduce homeopathic principles to a broader audience. I like to call it stealth homeopathy.”
He is currently working on a new book, which will be titled, The World According to Homeopathy.
Dr. Malerba practices with his wife, Mary Malerba, an RN, in upstate New York. He is board certified in homeotherapeutics and is past-president of the Homeopathic Medical Society of the State of New York.
He is a dual citizen of the U.S. and Ireland.
